A deal between the Philadelphia Phillies and Houston Astros for Wilton Lopez that appeared to be all but finalized on Wednesday is reportedly on hold following the reliever’s physical examination.
Via Jim Salisbury, CSN Philly:
The proposed deal, which seemed to be coming together on Wednesday afternoon, appeared to stagnate later in the day. Lopez was in Philadelphia for a physical exam on Wednesday. The results of that exam were not known — Phillies officials never comment on proposed deals — but it’s worth noting that the 29-year-old right-hander missed time with an elbow injury in 2012.
More details to come once they’re available.
