Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Melky Cabrera has reportedly decided to pull out of the upcoming World Baseball Classic. He was included on the Dominican Republic’s provisional roster that was released last month along with teammates Jose Reyes, Edwin Encarnacion and Esmil Rogers.
#BlueJays OF Melky Cabrera will NOT play in the World Baseball Classic, reports @tavonsky

Cabrera’s decision to skip the Classic is unknown at this time, but it might be tied to the recent allegations published last week in the Miami New Times listing ballplayers involvement with a Miami clinic that dispensed PED’s, which included Cabrera. Alex Rodriguez, Gio Gonzalez and Nelson Cruz have since issued statements denying involvement with the Biogenesis clinic.
Last season, Cabrera was suspended 50 games while a member of the San Francisco Giants for testing positive for testosterone. At the time, Melky was leading the National League with 159 hits.
This off-season, the Blue Jays signed him to a two-year deal worth $16 million.

John Lott also tweets the Esmail Rogers is also not going to play.
If I was the jays, having gone all in as they have this year. I wouldn’t let any of the players play this year, most especially Arencibia and Bautista.
Bautista is not playing …. AA wont let him. Arencibia is playing as he will get some more 1 on 1 time with RA which as a jays fan is good.
To you think a player is more or less likely to get hurt in Spring Training game?
Go find some wood please….
