Vladimir Guerrero, at the age of 38, isn’t quite prepared to walk away from baseball just yet. Ken Rosenthal tweeted a link to a video of Guerrero taking some cuts, running, and demonstrating that he can still toss a baseball, and it’s well worth a viewing based on the early 90s infomercial vibe and for a glimpse of Vlad rocking an Expos cap.

Guerrero last played in the Majors in 2011 with the Baltimore Orioles, hitting .290/.317/.416 with 13 home runs in 590 plate appearances. He attempted a comeback last season, putting in some time with the Toronto Blue Jays system, failing to draw a walk in 55 plate appearances between High-A ball and Triple-A. That’s just so Vlad.
I for one, would prefer to remember Guerrero as one of the most exciting players to watch for over ten years. A hobbled old shadow of his former self hacking at everything within four feet of the plate? Pass.

Oh Vladdy. Vladdy, no.
oui vladdy, tu vas rĂ©ussir….
More power to him, dude loves baseball!
