Detroit Tigers v New York Yankees - Game One

New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter, who underwent ankle surgery last October, will make his first appearance of the spring today against the Atlanta Braves.

He is expected to get two at-bats against Braves left-hander Mike Minor.

Jeter, who hit .316/.362/.429 in 159 games last season, battled an ankle injury in the second half of the 2012 season, but underwent surgery after suffering a fractured ankle in Game 1 of the ALCS against the Detroit Tigers.

After a busy off-season of rehab, doctors finally advised him on Friday to “move forward”.
