Pittsburgh Pirates v Boston Red Sox

The Boston Red Sox, already missing David Ortiz from the lineup with a heel injury, will continue to be without starting shortstop Stephen Drew due to concussion symptoms.

Drew, who was hit in the head by a pitch last Thursday, was signed a one-year deal this off-season to worth $9.5 million. With the season just under three weeks away, having Drew back on the field come Opening Day could be in jeopardy. Jose Iglesias, who picked up the majority of the spring starts at short with Drew out, would likely become the starter if Drew is to miss a portion of the regular season with the injury.

In 18 plate appearances this spring, Drew has posted a .188/.278/.250 line.
