While it was pretty cool when Harvard’s baseball team covered Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe” in the spring, the Cleveland Indians’ “Harlem Shake” video last week was absolutely insufferable. The kids at Harvard get cool points for starting a trend that, while eventually growing tired, was fresh and hilarious at the time. The Cleveland Indians, on the other hand, missed the boat on the “Harlem Shake” by a month. Zero points for originality.
Enter the Sul Ross State University baseball team. These fine young gentlemen leaned on one of the funniest baseball films of all-time by spoofing the Cleveland Indians’ American Express commercial from the 1989 film “Major League”. Don’t steal home without it. NAILS!
