Detroit Tigers v Oakland Athletics

The Oakland Athletics, who are off to a good start this season with nine wins in their first eleven games, have placed outfielder Yoenis Cespedes on the 15-day disabled list with a hand injury.


Cespedes, who left Friday’s game after landing awkwardly on his hand, underwent X-Rays after the game which came back negative. On the season, he has a .200/.298/.450 line with three home runs in 11 games.

Taking his spot on the 25-man roster will be outfielder Michael Taylor, who was hitting .410/.452/.769 in 42 plate appearances at Triple-A Sacramento this year. Last season, Taylor appeared in six games for the A’s, recording just three hits in 21 at bats.
