This may not be the best catch of the year by a fan (that went to his guy in Seattle for sure) but anytime you see a one-handed grab like this, you have to give it some consideration.

Pittsburgh Pirates v Baltimore Orioles

The Atlanta Braves added depth to their bullpen on Wednesday, acquiring reliever Luis Ayala from the Baltimore Orioles in exchange for minor league left-hander Chris Jones.

Ayala, a nine-year veteran, has appeared in two games this season for the Orioles, allowing two runs on four hits. Last season, the 35-year old right-hander appeared in 66 games for Baltimore, posting a 2.64 ERA, 3.67 FIP with 6.1 K/9. The Orioles had been trying to deal him since spring training.

Currently the Braves bullpen consists of Jordan Walden, Eric O’Flaherty, Luis Avilan, Cory Gearrin, Cristhian Martinez and closer Craig Kimbrel. Combined they have a 1.88 ERA and 6.4 K/9 in 24 innings pitched this season.

The Boston Red Sox have placed pitcher John Lackey on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to April 7 with a right bicep strain. Lackey left his start Sunday against the Blue Jays after tossing 4 1/3 innings.

Lackey, who was making his first start since undergoing Tommy John surgery in October of 2011, underwent an MRI that showed the right-hander avoided any structural damage. In his career, he has posted a 4.10 ERA, 3.90 FIP with 7.0 K/9.
