One day after making the biggest splash of the off-season, signing Zack Greinke to a six year deal worth $147 million, the Los Angeles Dodgers were back it Sunday, signing Korean pitcher Ryu Hyun-jin to a six year contract worth $36 million.
The Dodgers, who official won the right to negotiate with the left-hander with a winning bid of $25,737,737, had until today to come to terms. If no agreement could be reached, Ryu would not be available to be posted again until November 2013.
Over seven seasons pitching for the Hanwha Eagles, Ryu posted 98 wins, and led the league in strikeouts on five occasions. Archi covered more on his career here.
