Today’s “The MMA Show with Mauro Ranallo” podcast featured an interview with Mark Munoz, the UFC middleweight contender who had to drop out of his scheduled fight against Chael Sonnen at UFC on FOX 2 due to a right elbow injury. Munoz dropped by to talk about how disappointed he is not to be fighting Sonnen, how he expects the newly-created middleweight bouts on the card to play out, and when he expects to return to action.
“My doctor said it’s four-to-six weeks of rehab. He said May, but now he’s telling me June or early July (to return to action) so I’m like “Wow, that late huh?” That’s the worst case scenario. But I told him, ‘Man, I’m like Wolverine, I heal up quick.’ I want to get on the fast track. The doctor said it all depends on my body so I said ‘Well I’m Wolverine, so we’re going to do this quick.’”
