Today on the video portion of The MMA Show, Mauro welcomed Strikeforce middleweight contender Derek Brunson to the program. Brunson was scheduled to face his toughest test next Saturday night when he stepped into the cage with former Strikeforce middleweight champion Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza.
Unfortunately for Brunson, it was announced today that he would not be cleared to fight by the Ohio State Athletic Commission due to poor vision. The commission has said that they do not have a problem with fighters wearing contact lenses (which Brunson does), but that it has a problem with Brunson’s natural vision.
The undefeated Brunson gave his take on the situation and what he will need to happen to continue on with his career.
