Injuries to watch: Week 13

Here’s a look at some of the more notable injuries this week:

  • Adrian Peterson (ankle) missed Vikings practice Wednesday and will likely be a game-time decision Sunday. I hope you’ve got Toby Gerhart on your bench. In other news, Brett Favre (too many to list) missed practice too, but he’ll play against the Bills.
  • Both the Steelers and the Ravens are dealing with some important injuries ahead of this week’s prime-time tilt. Le’Ron McClain (ankle) isn’t practicing for Baltimore, while Ben Roethlisberger (foot) was limited Wednesday. Troy Polamalu (Achilles) continues to miss practice time but will play Sunday.
  • Austin Collie’s status remains uncertain for the Colts’ Sunday game against Dallas. Collie (concussion) will probably have to take extra precautions considering the season he’s had and the hit he took.
  • Smile, Keiland Williams owners who don’t have Ryan Torain. Torain (hamstring) missed practice Wednesday and might sit out another game. Washington’s opponent, the Giants, were forced to salvage a close win against Jacksonville last week, mainly because Eli Manning has no healthy receivers. The bright side is that Steve Smith (pectoral) returned to practice on a limited basis today, but it’s still not looking good this week. Hakeem Nicks (leg) is still out.
  • For the second straight week, a running back appears to be ready to return to the Saints. Reggie Bush was back last week, and now Pierre Thomas (ankle) is practicing again.
  • Kenny Britt (ankle) has returned to Titans practice after five weeks off. He’s questionable for this week’s game against a bad Jacksonville secondary. His presence would be huge for the Titans, as well as strapped fantasy owners.
  • Good news, bad news for the Chargers. The good news is that Ryan Mathews (ankle) is back practicing for the Chargers. But Malcom Floyd (hamstring) is coming along slowly after barely playing Sunday nigtht and didn’t practice Wednesday.
  • Brandon Marshall (hamstring) was limited for the Dolphins in Wednesday’s practice, three days after sitting out a victory in Oakland. He’s a scary fantasy play against Cleveland.
  • Mike Williams (foot) continues to miss practice time for Seattle. The Seahawks offence isn’t the same without him.
  • Greg Jennings (foot) missed Packers practice but will almost surely play Sunday.
  • Myriad other players have been sitting out for three particular teams — the Bills, Vikings and Colts. Feel free to Google away for the full details.
