So much for Bill Cowher saving the Carolina Panthers.

Cowher has three teams on his wish list, according to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen. The trio of squads Cowher would considering taking his talents to? The Dolphins, Texans and Giants. Let’s quickly break it down.

Miami: The Dolphins will likely miss the playoffs, and there are whispers that Tony Sparano’s job won’t be safe with Bill Parcells leaving town. At this point, I’m speculating that it’s probably a 50/50 shot Sparano keeps his job after the season.

Houston: The Texans seem to feel as though Gary Kubiak isn’t the problem. The team needs someone who can make better decisions in the draft and free agency, but if Cowher wants to be on the sidelines, he likely won’t get a chance to do it in Houston until 2012.

New York: Barring a massive collapse over the final three weeks of the season, Tom Coughlin’s job is probably safe.

  1. Perhaps a re-evaluation of the Giants situation is in order, provided that yesterday’s game has the expected effect of knocking the… *Chris Berman voice* …GGGGGGGG-MEEEEN… out of the playoff picture. Yes, they’re still in a wild card spot, but that kind of comeback HAS to be demoralizing.

    • Honestly, if they miss the playoffs I wouldn’t be surprised if the Giants fired Coughlin. He only has one year left on his contract, and the public pressure will be through the roof. In a year in which so many average teams are succeeding, a team with as much talent as New York has no excuse for missing the payoffs.
