Pittsburgh mayor Luke Ravenstahl lost a traditional Super Bowl bet with Green Bay mayor Jim Schmitt, meaning Ravenstahl was forced to — wait for it — shovel snow. And hang a Packers banner in some random spot at city hall.
Mr. Ravenstahl shoveled the walkway of St. Rosalia Parish, the Greenfield church of Pittsburgh-born Packers Coach Mike McCarthy’s parents, Joe and Ellen.
Immediately after, the mayor hung the Green Bay flag on the City-County Building portico. As part of the wager, the flag will remain there for one day.
Here’s a link to the video of the mayor painstakingly removing snow from a walkway in front of a church in his own city that is attended by the parents of the coach of the team that beat his city’s team in the Super Bowl. Must have been humiliating.
