I wish the title was in reference to the collective bargaining agreement or something that mattered to the majority of our readers, but it’s actually about the quarterback situation in Denver.
As of right now, the Broncos are calling Kyle Orton their starting quarterback.
That’s a moderate upset considering that Tim Tebow started the final three games of 2010 and performed admirably in that limited run. Either way, Orton is the veteran and he lost his job in 2010 due to injury, not poor play. He deserves the largely symbolic starting role for now.
If Tebow emerges and outperforms Orton in training camp, he’ll be the starter. In fact, he’ll likely earn the job if he can simply play at a similar level to the one Orton plays at.
