This year’s Madden cover boy will be decided in bracket format, which is a smart marketing initiative from EA Sports, but also creates kind of a weird situation.
That’s because the Madden cover curse will undoubtedly play a role if fans have the vote. If you’re a Packers fan, are you going to vote for or against Aaron Rodgers, knowing full well that, in the last decade, at least nine cover models have been negatively affected the world-famous curse?
Sports fans are superstitious, which is why I wouldn’t be surprised to see a random dude like Jordan Gross or Danny Woodhead win by default.
The first-round results will be revealed next Monday. We won’t know the winner (or loser, if you buy into the jinx) until Apr. 26.
So there you go, football fans. Time to rush to your computer and start casting votes in favour of your rivals.
