Lately, there’s been a lot of speculation about how long the collective bargaining agreement stalemate can linger before the league has to start postponing and/or cancelling events that carry much more value than the rookie symposium.

Once we approach the date that will force the NFL to start making changes to the 2011 calendar — which would obviously cost the league large chunks of money — then we’ll finally be looking at a real deadline to get something done. The owners don’t want to lose game revenue and the players don’t want to lose paychecks.

NFL Network’s Albert Breer reports, via Twitter, that July 15 could be that date.

July 15 is 50 days from today. Let the countdown begin.

My bet: A deal gets done on Fri. July 8.
