- I’m a little groggy this morning after a long night of watching playoff hockey and burning cars, but we’ll get through this together. The hockey part was highly entertaining, and the best Twitter comedy was actually provided by some of the NFL media tweeps. Albert Breer said that Canucks goalie Roberto Luongo reminds him of former Colts idiot kicker Mike Vanderjagt.
- Tom Coughlin isn’t paying much attention to Plaxico Burress‘ comments last week, choosing instead to simply wish his former receiver well in his future endeavors.
- Drew Brees, the Saints quarterback who’s also a member of the players’ executive committee, further fueled the good vibes surrounding the league’s labor impasse. Brees said it’s “crunch time,” and that he thinks the gap is being narrowed in a lot of different areas.
- Matt Hasselbeck wants to stay in Seattle, but he’s “prepared for whatever.”
- Music City Miracles is thinking realistically about the Titans’ 2011 season while forecasting the numbers that can be expected from Kerry Collins if he resigns.
- Mike Mayock thinks the over/under for Terrelle Pryor in the supplemental draft is the fourth round. He also said that Jets utility man Brad Smith is a good comparison to show how Pryor could be effectively utilized.
- ESPN’s John Clayton narrows it down to five teams that could take a chance on Pryor.
- Philadelphia could be pretty aggressive once free agency finally begins, and Albert Haynesworth is reportedly on their list of targets.
- Cedric Benson joined his Bengals teammates during their player-organized workouts. The soon-to-be unrestricted free agent says he wants to stay in Cincinnati, and that he likes the playbook produced by new offensive coordinator Jay Gruden.
- To the surprise of no one, Jimmy Smith‘s background check didn’t exactly produce flattering results prior to the draft, and Ravens head coach John Harbaugh reportedly didn’t want to pick him in the first round.
- Well, that didn’t last long. Peter King says the report about Harbaugh’s reluctance to draft Smith is totally wrong.
