• There are several aspects of Saturday’s ridiculous Favre to Philly rumor that should induce instant weeping, but the first and most glaring is the worst jersey foul in football history pictured above.
  • Dare I say it, but if Favre was actually open to being a true backup, then Philly could would work quite well since we can count on Michael Vick missing a handful of games every year. Easy with those pitchforks everyone, because debates about Favre’s place on the Eagles’ sideline are thankfully a waste of breath after Jay Glazer shot down the latest painful Favre speculation.
  • Staying in Philly, Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News takes a look at the Eagles’ soon-to-be unrestricted free agents and who could be sticking around.
  • We can now legitimately assess free agents because barring a meltdown that’s unprecedented for even this NFL offseason, the lockout will be ending today. Of course, there’s always one minor issue to stir our pessimism.
  • Peter King says there’s a chance the deal doesn’t wrap up by Monday night, but we like the odds he gives.
  • Given all that’s happened over the last four months, even the slim odds King gives may be scary to some. Never fear, because Glazer–who only surfaces with pleasant lockout news–reports that a positive vote today from the players is indeed a formality.
  • Albert Breer of the NFL Network says negotiations continued until 3 a.m. this morning, and that a vote will take place shortly after noon today.
  • Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio obtained an e-mail from Drew Brees that he sent to his New Orleans teammates. In it Brees says there’s a chance free agency could start on Tuesday, as in tomorrow. We’ll miss you, conflicting lockout reports.
  • Brees’ e-mail presents the craziest scenario, and details on the exact start time of free agency remain foggy, the only weather condition this lockout knows. ESPN’s Chris Mortensen doesn’t think full free agency will start until Saturday, while Judy Battista of the New York Times says Friday at 6 p.m. ET is when the frenzy will begin.
  • Terrelle Pryor may not be eligible for a supplemental draft that isn’t even scheduled yet anyway.
  • I just spent over $2,000 on a knife set for Jay Cutler and Kristin Cavallari, and now Cutler has reportedly broke up with Cavallari and called off the wedding. Thanks for showing that trademark commitment and passion, Jay.
