After sort of a strange delay, Ahmad Bradshaw has finally accepted the Giants’ contract offer and will return to be the team’s top back in 2011.
The 25-year-old Bradshaw broke out with 1,235 yards and eight touchdowns last season. His numbers have improved steadily over the first four years of his career.
The Giants had reportedly offered Bradshaw a contract late last week, but our No. 1 ranked free agent running back was taking his sweet-ass time mulling things over. But with DeAngelo Williams, Marion Barber and Cedric Benson filling (or re-filling) roster spots in Carolina, Chicago and Cincinnati and Reggie Bush now in Miami, there weren’t a lot of openings for Bradshaw.
So this doesn’t come as a major surprise. The Giants don’t like Bradshaw’s fumbling issues, but I don’t think they trust Brandon Jacobs or Danny Ware either.
