- With apologies to our friends south of the border who are slugging their way through another crappy Monday, today is a holiday here in the Great White North. But we’ll still have an active, albeit lighter posting day at GLS. It starts with this belated links post, and the tales of bonding and profanity at Eagles training camp.
- Joey Harrington was hit by an SUV while riding his bike in Portland. He was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
- ESPN’s sources say that Eagles receiver DeSean Jackson will end his holdout (which is currently four days long) and report to training camp later this week.
- While Pro Football Talk reported that Jackson will not be making an appearance on either Monday or Tuesday, Howard Eskin of WIP and NBC 10 echoes the ESPN report and says that Jackson will be in camp sometime later this week. He also reported that the Eagles won’t negotiate with Jackson until he ends his holdout.
- While Jackson’s holdout continues for now, Frank Gore‘s brief absence will end today.
- The Giants have reportedly granted Osi Umenyiora permission to seek a trade, while Mike Garafolo of the Newark Star-Ledger thinks it’s time for Ahmad Bradshaw to accept the Giants’ offer.
- Displaying their love for self-inflicted pain, the Battle Red Blog has given Texans fans five reasons to be pessimistic about the 2011 season. Don’t worry, they’ll balance it out with some optimism soon.
- Yahoo’s Dan Wetzel examines Peyton Manning‘s new contract, which was another move by a rare team in today’s NFL that lacks captivating personalities, and glamor of any kind.
- Late last week Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times profiled the Jay Cutler you don’t know.
