Jay Cutler has refunded our friends at TotalPackers.com
- What happened this weekend? Shaun Ellis jumped from the Jets to the Pats, Derrick Mason became a Jet and Cortland Finnegan walked out of training camp but insisted it wasn’t a holdout. Oh, and the Pro Football Hall of Fame has seven new members. Here’s Shannon Sharpe’s speech.
- What’s happening today? DeSean Jackson is ending his holdout and returning to the Eagles, Chris Johnson continues to hold out in Tennessee (but there’s hope) and free agent Steve Smith is apparently slated to pay a visit to the Giants (you read that correctly).
- Mason’s in town and Plaxico Burress is practicing again with the Jets. Is the Burress/Mason combo better than Edwards/Cotchery for the Jets? My vote: Nope.
- No Mason, no Malcom Floyd. What should the Ravens do at receiver?
- In going-out-on-limb news, Big Cat Country thinks Maurice Jones-Drew will have 2,000 yards from scrimmage and the Jaguars will win the AFC South.
- Strangely, the guys at Canal Street Chronicles aren’t quite as optimistic about their Saints.
- Is Canadian rookie Danny Watkins a future Pro Bowler?
- Texans training camp: now with 100 percent more Andre Johnson.
- Redskins VP of football administration Eric Schaffer lost seven pounds in the early days of free agency.
- Are Chad Henne and Brandon Marshall actually establishing some chemistry? Let’s not get too excited about a scrimmage.
- The first rookie lockout-related casualty: Prince Amukamara in New York.
- Ryan Clady is finally 100 percent recovered from the knee injury he suffered last offseason.
- Oh, and here’s video of ESPN’s Michelle Beadle walking somewhere with Clay Matthews, which of course means that the two are involved in a heavy relationship:
