Jonathan Baldwin isn’t helping his case against those who deemed him to possess “character concerns” in the lead up to the NFL draft. And he really isn’t helping his case against those who think that Steve Breaston should be above him on the Kansas City Chiefs’ depth chart.

The rookie receiver will reportedly miss 6-8 weeks after injuring his wrist in a locker room fight with one of the team’s veteran leaders, Thomas Jones. That comes from Nick Wright of 610 Sports in Kansas City.

The No. 26 overall pick was expected to get plenty of opportunities as the primary complement to Dwayne Bowe in his rookie campaign with the Chiefs, but now he’ll likely be further behind in the learning process than he already was. Rookies can’t afford preventable injuries like this in a year such as this one.

There’s a good chance this derail’s Baldwin’s entire first season.
