- We get it, athletes live lavish lives, and those lives lead to a lot of money being spent on a lot of unnecessary things. But when you once signed a $55 million contract as former Ravens cornerback Chris McAlister did, relying on your parents for the basic necessities of life isn’t the most ideal post-football existence. Hey, I guess it’s still better than living in a van down by the river.
- Packers cornerback Charles Woodson was given a $10,000 fine for his punch to the lower region of Saints tight end David Thomas. This shows that we’ve reached the point where a haymaker to the noggin after the conclusion of a play could actually cost a player less money than a hit to the head during a play.
- Sam Bradford‘s bruised right index finger felt fine yesterday at practice. Surely the Giants wouldn’t target his injury on Sunday, right?
- Brandon Stokley will be the newest addition to the Giants during that game, as New York continues to search for a suitable replacement in the slot for the departed Steve Smith.
- A Giants team crushed by injuries also received a tiny dose of good news when Prince Amukamara started to take baby steps in his recovery from a broken ankle.
- Arian Foster was on the field in Houston yesterday and felt good, which also makes thousands of fantasy owners feel rather warm and fuzzy.
- It’s just wonderful that there’s good injury news in Houston, St. Louis, and New York. The fine people of Denver have no idea how that feels.
- Same goes for Dallas, where injuries on the offensive line have caused some shuffling in practice.
- Andy Dalton‘s wrist is improving, but he wasn’t able to throw yesterday and he’s still “questionable at best” for Cincinnati’s Week 2 game against Denver.
- Chad Henne is the real White Vick, or at least he is according to Brandon Marshall.

Man $55 million down the pan !!
