Facts have been fudged or just simply omitted from resumes since the time when it was determined that resumes were needed to obtain employment.
But if this is the resume that Matt Millen handed NFL Network when he applied for his talking head gig, I’d like to buy that man a beer.
Seven years of his employment history is missing. Seven long, painful, and horrible years highlighted by a “Fire Millen!” movement that spread across the land and randomly surfaced at NCAA basketball games, in addition to Pistons and Red Wings games. Fans with anti-Millen signs in Detroit were chased by security guards as Millen looked on from his perch high above, and others walked out of Ford Field during organized protests.
So yeah, I can see why NFL Network would want to leave all of that out, along with Millen’s 38-81 record during his time as the general manager of the Detroit Lions, a tenure that mercifully ended three games into the Lions’ infamous 0-16 season in 2008.
Thankfully, journalistic integrity still exists somewhere…
