The initial injury report of the conference championship games has arrived. Here’s what you need to know.
Ravens at Patriots
Limited in practice: S Ed Reed (ankle)
GLS ANALYSIS: Reed was roughed up against the Texans, but he’s almost certain to play Sunday. Baltimore is very healthy.
Did not practice: QB Tom Brady (left shoulder)
Limited in practice: WR Deion Branch (knee), T Marcus Cannon (ankle), S Patrick Chung (knee), LB Dane Fletcher (thumb), TE Aaron Hernandez (concussion), S James Ihedigbo (shoulder), DT Kyle Love (ankle), G Logan Mankins (knee), LB Rob Ninkovich (hip), T Nate Solder (concussion), LB Brandon Spikes (knee), T Sebastian Vollmer (back, foot), WR Wes Welker (knee), LB Tracy White (abdomen)
Practiced fully: CB Kyle Arrington (foot), G Dan Connolly (groin), WR Matt Slater (shoulder)
GLS ANALYSIS: Of course the only guy missing from New England’s practice was the most important one they’ve got. Brady will definitely play Sunday, but he rarely misses entire practices, so it’s at least notable. It feels like it’s been years since we’ve talked about a Brady injury — remember this?
Giants at 49ers
Did not participate: RB Ahmad Bradshaw (foot)
Limited in practice: LB Mark Herzlich (ankle), QB Eli Manning (illness), DE Justin Tuck (shoulder), DE Osi Umenyiora (ankle, knee), CB Corey Webster (hamstring)
GLS ANALYSIS: Manning’s sick, which is why he was sent home early. I can’t imagine that’ll be a big issue by the weekend. Bradshaw is fine.
Did not practice: WR Ted Ginn (knee), S Dashon Goldson (ankle), C Jonathan Goodwin (calf)
Limited in practice: TE Delanie Walker (jaw), DE Ray McDonald (hamstring)
GLS ANALYSIS: Walker led the Niners in receiving in their regular-season matchup with the Giants, so it’s rather large news that he’s back at practice. It’s not looking as promising for Ginn, while McDonald will probably play in limited fashion again.
