As I sat at my desk this afternoon doing intense research regarding the state of NFL fortune cookies and the battle between Peyton Manning websites, I said to myself “self, the Scouting Combine is starting, so we need an important-sounding injury to a top prospect to worry about even though it’s not that serious.”

My wish is Jason La Canfora’s command, or so it seems.

Richardson suffered the injury during the national title game. The Alabama running back and 2011 Heisman candidate will easily be a first-round pick, with some early mocks slotting him as high as the top five. That’s lofty and elite territory for a running back.

Any knee injury sustained by a running back at any level is at least mildly concerning. But since La Canfora also notes that Richardson will be a full participant at Alabama’s Pro Day in exactly two weeks, we can confidently say that he won’t be the Da’Quan Bowers of 2012.
