Mikel Leshoure returned to practice today, just when you thought Joique Bell could be the waiver wire steal of the week.
He’s fine. Like I said, he had a personal day yesterday RT @ericranes: Leshoure?

Leshoure was seen having his leg checked out by trainers in the final minutes of this past Sunday’s game against the Seahawks, making Bell an instant wire addition for many owners in need of running back depth. Leshoure was a no-go at practice Wednesday, and fantasy owners of the second-year back wondered if he did indeed a suffer a leg injury. Head coach Jim Schwartz updated the situation after yesterday’s practice, stating that there was no injury, and Leshoure was absent from practice due to personal reasons.
Bell, who is owned in 3.2 percent of ESPN leagues and 15 percent of Yahoo leagues, is still worthy of sitting on your bench, as his 116 rushing yards and 227 receiving yards are solid overall numbers for a backup who’s had a minimal workload. But more importantly, the Lions’ backfield is a little murky right now, with Bell being called the team’s closer, meaning he could begin to eat into Leshoure’s carries late in games when Detroit is ahead, and possibly vulture goal-line touches. At the very least he’s an essential handcuff, and for deep league owners he’s also a reaching flex play due to his potential to notch a cheap score.
As for Leshoure, he’s a sure start this week against a Jaguars run defense that allows 135.7 yards per game on the ground.
