Week 10 composite rankings

Ray Rice vs. the Raiders = boom

So many stud players with so many stud matchups this week. All of the fantasy points will be scored by said players, and you’ll either love or hate yourself.

Yes, welcome to Week 10, where Matt Ryan is the next man up in the season of Saints slugging, and Stevan Ridley will be the latest to make the Bills look like they couldn’t stop Sam Gordon. As is our weekly custom, we compiled rankings from Michael Fabiano and Adam Rank from NFL.com, and Jeremy Eisenberg and Dave Richard from CBS.

Quarterbacks

Player Fabiano Rank Eisenberg Richard Average
Tom Brady vs. BUF 1 1 1 1 1.00
Matt Ryan @NO 2 3 2 2 2.25
Drew Brees vs. ATL 3 1 2 3 2.25
Peyton Manning @CAR 6 4 5 4 4.75
Ben Roethlisberger vs. KC 5 4 4 7 5.00
Matthew Stafford @ MIN 4 5 6 5 5.00
Cam Newton vs. DEN 7 8 7 9 7.75
Andrew Luck @JAC 8 6 10 8 8.00
Tony Romo @PHI 11 11 8 6 9.00
Josh Freeman vs. SD 9 9 9 10 9.25

Carson Palmer @BAL 16 18 11 14 14.75
Philip Rivers @TB 18 19 11 15 15.75

Any time Michael Vick steps onto a football field a horrible matchup awaits, and what’s especially frustrating is that much of it is far beyond his control despite the absurd calls for Nick Foles. A week after he was sacked eight times by the Saints, a date with DeMarcus Ware will end in regular bone crunching.

Pierre Thomas vs. ATL 25 24 19 17 21.25

Ray Rice was productive despite a somewhat plodding pace this past Sunday against the Browns (98 yards on 3.9 yards per carry). But this could be his most productive week of the year against a Raiders defense that’s allowing 124.1 rushing yards per game.

Wide Receivers

Player Fabiano Smith Eisenberg Richard Average

Mike Williams vs. SD 22 22 18 17 19.75
Lance Moore vs. ATL 20 20 21 18 19.75

Welker has 397 receiving yards over his last three games against the Bills, a defense that’s giving up nearly eight yards per pass attempt. He’ll be at or near the top of the leaderboard in receiving yards this week.

Tight Ends

Player Fabiano Rank Eisenberg Richard Average
Rob Gronkowski vs. BUF 1 1 1 1 1
Jimmy Graham vs. ATL 2 2 3 2 2.25
Antonio Gates @TB 6 8 2 3 4.75

Brandon Myers @BAL 13 13 13 16 13.75
Brandon Pettigrew @MIN 11 11 16 19 14.25

In what could be a shootout between the Falcons and Saints, Graham should maintain his Graham-ish numbers after posting 124 receiving yards on the Falcons last year.

Defense/Special Teams

Player Fabiano Rank Eisenberg Richard Average
Steelers vs. KC 2 2 1 1 1.5
Bears vs. HOU 4 1 8 2 3.75
Giants @CIN 3 3 4 7 4.25
49ers vs. STL 8 5 2 3 4.5
Patriots vs. BUF 1 4 5 9 4.75
Seahawks vs. NYJ 6 6 6 5 5.75

Texans @CHI 9 7 9 11 9
Lions @MIN 16 14 3 6 9.75
Cowboys @PHI 10 12 10 9 10.25

The Steelers could be among the overall weekly leaders in points, because that’s what happens when the Steelers defense faces an offense that’s given up 29 turnovers. It’s science.
