You were warned about Darren Sproles when we screamed at you earlier. Sorry about that.
When the inactives for the three late games were finalized a short time ago, the Saints made it official. Sproles won’t play today against the Raiders, as despite some optimism surrounding his hand earlier this week, he’ll now miss his third straight game.
Expect the three-headed monstrosity in the Saints’ backfield to continue in terms of the workload distribution, with Chris Ivory and Mark Ingram on the higher end and ahead of Pierre Thomas, but only slightly. You can still feel good about your Ingram or Ivory flex play against the 21st-ranked Raiders run defense, but those good vibes will likely end next week when Sproles returns for real this time, and some kind of a four-way backfield pie slicing begins.
