Ho hum. Just another +100 yard first half for the guy who’s still on pace for over 2,000 rushing yards this year, and Eric Dickerson’s single-season rushing record of 2,105 yards remains well within reach.
We honestly, really tried to find some variety here for this week’s prestigious fantasy player at the half award that’s handed out during the busy block of early games. I suppose we could have favored Andre Johnson, who continues to not be dead, and he finished the first half of Houston’s game against Indianapolis with six catches for 101 yards and a touchdown (16 fantasy points in standard leagues, and 22 in PPR leagues).
Yes, that was a possibility. But when Adrian Peterson puts together yet another first half with over 100 rushing yards, you just bow to our messiah. Peterson’s Vikings’ currently lead St. Louis 30-7 at halftime, a healthy lead powered by their stud running back’s 119 rushing yards and a touchdown. That score didn’t just come on a pounding one-yard run either. Nope, it was an 82-yard TD, which comes after Peterson had a touchdown of the exact same distance two weeks ago. It was his fifth +50 yard run this year, and it also comes after he had 104 rushing yards in just the first quarter last week.
He is not of this world.
Peterson already has 17 fantasy points, putting him on pace for 34 today. Yo Adrian, how’s that knee feeling?
