When exactly it happened is unclear, but we know that Michael Turner was jogging on the Falcons’ sideline and trying to shake something off, and we know that he’s officially questionable to return.
The 49ers just missed an opportunity to tie the game after David Akers clunked his 38-yard attempt off the right upright. What? The guy who missed the most field goals in the league missed a field goal? Madness. How much Turner’s possible absence hurts depends on how much the Falcons can make that miss hurt.
Jacquizz Rodgers is great and all, but if Atlanta is in a position where clock grinding is necessary late in the fourth quarter, having the hulking pounder healthy is much more ideal. Expect Jason Snelling to be leaned on more heavily for that role, and of course Rodgers will receive more carries.
