David Garrard has said that he would like to be back in Miami so badly that he would gladly accept the spot of Ryan Tannehill’s backup, even though Garrard was in competition for the team’s starting spot at the beginning of last season. Garrard recently spoke to the Miami Herald and said:
I would love to be back in Miami. I love the coaching staff; I love Ryan, getting back in the league is what I want. I want to be able to go out in my career playing at a high level. I don’t want some freakish injuries to decide my career.
Garrard was cut by the Dolphins after he had surgery on his knee in August and have not reached out to Garrard about any roster spot. Garrard has not appeared in a regular season NFL game since 2010.
