The Miami Dolphins, who are reportedly the “front runners” for the services of free agent wide receiver Mike Wallace, are interested in receivers Brandon Gibson and Wes Welker, according to The Miami Herald.
Armando Salguero of the Herald suggests that the Dolphins might try and sign Welker in addition to Wallace. According to his source, if Welker doesn’t return to New England, he would love nothing more than to stick it to the Patriots.
Last season, the former Dolphin recorded 118 receptions for 1,354 yards and six touchdowns for New England. Welker was a member of the Dolphins from 2004-07.
The Dolphins are also in “serious” talks with former Rams receiver Brandon Gibson, according to the Herald. Gibson set career highs in receiving yards last season with 691 and touchdowns with five.
