The Seahawks are reportedly planning to release running back Leon Washington, according to Adam Schefter on twitter.
Washington was rarely used by the Seahawks last season, carrying the ball just 23 times for 83 yards and a touchdown. The 30-year-old has run for 2213 yards and 16 touchdowns in a seven-year career spent with the Seahawks and Jets while averaging 4.7 yards per carry.
Washington was set to earn $1.5 million next season with a $1 million roster bonus. Earlier on Tuesday, it was reported that the Seahawks may have been dangling Washington as trade bait.
