Yesterday, wide receiver Percy Harvin was traded from the Minnesota Vikings to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for a slew of draft picks including a 1st and 7th rounder in this year’s draft. Today, Harvin got that gigantic contract he’s been looking for all along (and a chance to build that Scrooge McDuck style vault/swimming pool I’m sure he’s always wanted).
According to Profootballtalk, Harvin has signed a six-year contract worth $67 million.
The base salaries are $2.5 million in 2013 (fully guaranteed), $11 million in 2014 (guaranteed for injury for now, fully guaranteed on fifth day of the 2014 waiver period), $10.5 million in 2015, $9.9 million in 2016, $9.95 million in 2016, and $11.15 million in 2017.
The contract also includes a $12 million signing bonus and a total $25.5 million in guaranteed money.
In 9 games last season, Harvin had 62 receptions for 677 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also had 574 yards and 1 touchdown on 16 kick returns.
