Good news, Patriots fans: your team doesn’t play the Titans in 2013.

Why is that splendid? Because Bernard Pollard, the noted Patriot killer, has signed a one-year deal with the Titans, according to ESPN’s Josina Anderson. Well known for trying to separate ball carriers from their legs, Pollard will now fortify a secondary that already signed George Wilson. Passing up an opportunity to add cheap depth isn’t wise when your defense ranked 26th this past season while giving up an average of 247.8 passing yards per game.

It’s unclear how Wilson and Pollard will fit together in the Titans’ defensive backfield, or if they’ll fit together at all, as they also have Michael Griffin as a starting safety. A battle for playing time will now most likely begin throughout the offseason.
