McClain, who was released by the Raiders last week, after drafting him eighth overall in the 2010 draft, had recorded 173 tackles, seven sacks and one interception in 41 career games in Oakland.
The Ravens defense ranked 17th in total defense last season, allowing 350.9 yards per game and recording 37 sacks, good for 15th in the league.
McClain, who is still just 23 years old, would likely replace the position held by Ray Lewis, who retired after winning the Super Bowl.
