According to Adam Schefter, New York has made calls to multiple teams on Friday in order to move up from pick 39 and draft a Quarterback.
ESPN reports the Jets debated taking Geno Smith with the 13th overall pick on Thursday night before deciding on DT Sheldon Richardson. They selected Cornerback Dee Milliner with the ninth overall pick.
Jets OC Marty Mornhinweg and Jets top scout Terry Bradway had dinner with Smith last month. Mornhinweg came away impressed according to a source that spoke with the four letter.
Other teams that could take a Quarterback at the top of round two include Arizona, Oakland, Philadelphia and Jacksonville.
