Chicago Bears v Tennessee Titans

That was quick. Matt Hasselbeck is set to sign with the Indianapolis Colts tomorrow, according to a tweet by Adam Schefter.

Hasselbeck was released by the Tennessee Titans earlier today. The 37-year-old started five games for the Titans last year, throwing for 1,367 yards and 7 touchdowns. The veteran Quarterback will serve as the backup to Andrew Luck.

Did your first-round pick tear a muscle you can’t pronounce? Is your top running back doing more sucking than running? Welp, let’s look for sleepers and waiver wire gold together, and be wrong together, and cry together.

For anyone who called Week 5 as the week when three Dolphins would end up on this list and two of them would be receivers, well, you need help.

What a world.

I could start this off by discussing how Matt Hasselbeck is old and Jake Locker will be the best thing since sliced bread once he takes over for the aging veteran in training camp, where the Titans are having a heated (well, kind of) quarterback competition. I could say that Hasselbeck made some good throws last season but is still no more than a stop-gap and placeholder for Locker, whom the Titans deemed their future when they went “all-in” on in April of 2011, and they have the ideal offense for him to show off his wicked arm strength.

But I’m not going to do that.
