A story from the Philadelphia Inquirer (via Kukla) reports that Pat Hickey, the Montreal Gazette writer, has found the vandal that stole his license plate and allegedly slashed his tires. Hickey, who will not press charges and did not identify the man, found the vandal via Facebook.

Hickey claimed to have spotted the man posing for a picture with his stolen plate, and expects him to make a public apology and make a donation to a Philadelphia charity. I’m not sure what’s more stupid, vandalizing a car or boasting about said vandalism on Facebook. As someone that’s booted a car or two I’m going with the Facebook thing.

According to the Inquirer, Hickey estimated that the damages to his vehicle were about $1000. Hickey has asked that the culprit make a donation in that amount in order to not be charged for his actions.

  1. Nice to see Hickey taking the high road here.

  2. Philly fans: they’re jerks, and they’re not real bright.

  3. And they have mustaches. Even the females.

  4. Don’t forget that Philly fans boo’d and threw snowballs at Santa Claus… this probably isn’t even in the Top 10 of Worst Acts by Philly Fans.

Agree that Hickey is showing a lot of class here.

  5. Simple rule of thumb… if you don’t want everyone to know, don’t post it on the internet.
