If someone could let me know how a disappointed player being a little stand-offish after a rough game is awkward, that’d be awesome.
Awkward: Difficult to effect; uncomfortable
Gotta agree with Adam on this one. Nothing awkward/uncomfortable about this interview. Price simply hates to lose. That’s a good quality in a pro hockey player.
hes always like this in interviews, eyes wandering like he needs a shot of Ritalin, short monotone answers…. he isnt more or less ackward, thats how he is…..
I have yet to see one half decent hockey interview after a game..its rehashed questions and Bull Durham memorized lines.
Beyond choreographed, predictable and boring….
Most media outside montreal missed the real story 0of the game;
Giuntas first game as captain there.
At his first press conference last year at a golf tournament, he had the brillance of learning to say Hello, how are you…Im happy to be here…in french and the people loved it.
First impressions count because no one said a word when this american became captain this year. You can bet that his small gesture helped.
So what does he do for the opener….? he introduces the players IN FRENCH and english!!! It was broken french, with mispronounciations galore but not one person minded… everyone respected him for the effort.
As an italian, this is not surprising to me ince players always do that in soccer even when not captain.
But anglos have a hard time dealing with the fact that less than 10% of people are english in quebec and a small sign of respect like this goes a long way there.
Bravo to Gionta who from day one in Montreal has said the right things.
I can guarantee you that his captaincy wont be up for debate while he is in Montreal.
Christ. THe poor kid cant get a break, can he? Get off his back.
I’ve heard plenty of worse postgame interviews (try most of last year’s Hawks squad – bunch of illiterate goons).
If you’ve been around a lot of post-game interviews, you’d know that this one was pretty normal from a player who’s team has just lost a home game. Price definitely was NOT awkward. But the questions posed by the media were. No one asked him HOW he felt about the game, it was more like the media was trying to put words in his mouth. Very bush league.
This interview is more than generous according to me. I mean, have you watched the game! Horrible for Price, He stopped 43 pucks and he did everything he could to keep the team in the game but they just couldn’t and had like 3840348230 stupid penalties. I’d be fucking pissed after a game like this one, specially when it’s the first one in front the fans. The medias has always been on his back, and aaalllllll summer long, he needs some peace right now. This is not an awkward interview, this is more than enough if you get the circumstances. He deserved a win, lost and had to face the medias with their obvious questions.
Let’s support him instead
absolutly nothing awkward about Carey throughout the entire video. nothing whatsoever.
what really was awkward was the media asking phony questions that led to obvious answers. now thats just sad.
