We All Combed Our Hair Like Danny Briere
Danny Briere believes his crosscheck to the head of Frans Nielsen was not a crosscheck to the head. The diminutive Philadelphia Flyers forward sounded off on the three game suspension he was handed, telling reporters;
“What I’m disappointed in is the fact they tried to spin it as a crosscheck to the head. If you look at the replay, it’s clearly not a crosscheck. A crosscheck is two hands moving forward. It’s a push with one hand. The mistake I made was that my stick was up there. Is it worth 3 games for that?”
We live in a world that is ripe with camera angles and slow-motion replay, Danny Briere does, too. Puck Daddy have a grainy screen cap that clearly shows Briere’s stick making contact with Nielsen’s head. You go sit for three, Danny Briere.

Within Russo’s Russo-less notebook there is word that Bouchard is willing to accept an assignment to Houston in order to be ready to play in the NHL again.

Brian McGrattan Doesn’t Respect Chris Neil
From one tough guy to another, Brian McGrattan let his feelings on Ottawa’s Chris Neil be known following his scuffle with Boston’s Dennis Seidenberg:
“That’s typical Chris Neil. I had to protect that guy for three years when I was there. He’d do that and I’d have to fight all his battles for him the next time we’d play a team after he’d do something stupid like that. It doesn’t surprise me.”
