Alexander Burmistrov didn’t look all that comfortable in his first few NHL games, but the 2010 8th overall pick has really started coming into his own as of late. After scoring a highlight reel goal late in the 3rd period of the Thrashers’ 5-0 rout of the Washington Capitals, Burmistrov now has 6 points in his last 7 games.
With his smooth skating ability and slick hands, Alexander Burmistrov will probably score a few more nice goals like this undressing of Jeff Schultz and Michal Neuvirth:
Burmistrov is just starting to find the score sheet, but he’s played well in other areas of the game while finding his offensive touch in the NHL. The 19-year old Russian is currently leading the NHL in penalties drawn (13) and in penalties drawn/60 minutes with a clip of 3.3 (all numbers courtesy of BehindTheNet, prior to Friday’s games).
