Crosby’s “Slew Foot” and Post-Game Denial

Brandon Dubinsky and the New York Rangers claim that Sidney Crosby slew footed Ryan Callahan in the first period of last night’s game, although, video evidence is not entirely conclusive.  Callahan was given a penalty for interference on the play, which was a garbage call – but it’s hard to tell if a) the slew foot was intentional and b) Crosby didn’t just throw Callahan down to the ice.  Anyway, Puck Daddy has video and breakdown of the play – but the real gold in all of this is Crosby’s post-game quotes where he essentially begins his transition into a heel, just like wrestling!

Bruins Trade Hunwick

Peter Chiarelli cleared some cap space by shipping defenceman Matt Hunwick to Colorado for Colby Cohen.  With Hunwick’s $1.45 million cap hit off the books, the Bruins have enough room to activate Marc Savard from long-term injury reserve.  Nice pick up by the Avalanche – not so sure Chiarelli is finished making moves here.

No Glennie at Canadian Junior Camp

Dallas Stars’ 8th overall pick from 2009, Scott Glennie, was not invited to the Canadian junior camp.  Glennie has 31 points in 28 games with the Brandon Wheat Kings of the WHL, but has failed to impress Hockey Canada brass with his play.

Tuukka Rask Meltdown Watch

Days of Y’Orr are keeping a close eye on Tuukka Rask in case of the event that the young Bruins’ goalie blows his stack.  Rask has played very well in limited action this season, but his teammates seem to bring their worst effort whenever he’s in the net.

OttawaGh0st Awaits Heatley

I would have posted these YouTube clips from OttawaGh0st here, but Stoeten’s got them up on The Score Buzz already.  This stuff is just gold…

Hiller’s Glove Save

The more I see this highlight, the more I think it’s a case of Hiller doing his best Glenn Healy (i.e. – puck goes right into glove, goaltender dresses it up).  Anyway, it’s the save of the night I suppose, so let’s give it a look.
