Winter Classic Alumni Game Rosters Announced

Head over to the Pensblog to take a look at the Penguins and Capitals’ rosters for the alumni game set for December 31st. The Pens’ team is so stacked that they could probably win the Southeast Division if we let them come out of retirement and play there. Two random players worth a mention; Rob Brown is on the Penguins’ squad while the Capitals counter with Nick Kypreos.

Mike Keenan “Confirms” Phaneuf Locker Room Issues in Calgary

I was going to avoid posting any mention of this altogether, but seeing as I’m hungover today and pressed for more relevant and meaningful material – I’m going with this bullshit. Although there’s zero clarification here on what exactly the issues were, Darren Dreger reports that Mike Keenan confirms that there were, in fact, issues with Phaneuf in the Flames dressing room while he was there. Veteran Flames reportedly referred to Phaneuf as “Neon Dion”, OMG.

Stolen Jerseys Returned to Pat Burns’ Family

It’s not everything, but the Toronto Sun reports that a dozen of the 30 sweaters stolen from Pat Burns’ widow during the former coach’s funeral have been returned.

Former Canucks captain Markus Naslund has been named general manager for Modo of the Swedish Elite League.
