Spezza Injured in Senators’ Win

The Ottawa Senators managed a 3-1 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Sunday, but lost Jason Spezza to an injury in the process. Spezza crashed awkwardly into the boards and appeared to favour his right arm. Kris Letang was slapped with a minor penalty for boarding on the play. No word yet on the severity.

Brayden Schenn to be Traded??

No, not his NHL rights… but the younger Schenn could be traded to a contending team in the WHL as was rumoured a couple of weeks back.

Top Hockey Stories of 2010

Michael Farber and Sports Illustrated have put together a pretty solid list of top ten hockey stories from the past calendar year. Sidney Crosby’s golden goal takes the top spot, obviously – but kudos for including the introduction of women to the Hockey Hall of Fame, which is a major story that has gotten somewhat lost in the year-end shuffle.

The New York Islanders are on a roll, too bad no one is showing up to witness it. The Islanders recorded their third straight victory on Sunday in front of 3,136 fans on Long Island.
