Jeff Carter tried to shot away Evander Kane’s attempt on a wide open net, but instead nearly pushed the puck into his own goal. Luckily, a diving Sergei Bobrovsky was there to erase a potential friendly fire incident.

Jeff Carter tried to shot away Evander Kane’s attempt on a wide open net, but instead nearly pushed the puck into his own goal. Luckily, a diving Sergei Bobrovsky was there to erase a potential friendly fire incident.
Carter clearly does not push the puck near the goal line. All he does a good job of clearing the puck out of the crease.

I thought that at first too, and then after analyzing it 15 times CSI-style I was convinced that if Bobrovsky doesn’t dive and make his sprawling save, Carter’s clearing attempt would have led to a goal on his own net.
