One of our favourite NHL beat writers is Michael Russo who covers the Minnesota Wild. On top of being informative and timely, Russo has a great sense of humour. He’s put it to great use here by bestowing the nickname “The Dreidel” upon Anton Khudobin because of the goaltender’s unorthodox style. That’s a whole lot of awesome.

Hockey on the Rise in Phoenix?

The Phoenix Coyotes may not be the desert’s most popular sports franchise, but the game of hockey would appear to be gaining in interest at the grassroots level in Arizona. An Edmonton minor hockey club had their gear stolen from their hotel parking lot while in Phoenix for a tournament. The Coyotes supplied the team with temporary gear so that they could participate in the tourney.
