The Worst Hockey Cards of All-Time is a recurring feature at Houses of the Hockey. On occasion, we’ll be highlighting some of the ugliest, funniest, and error-ridden cards both past and present. In this edition, we honour the awfulness of airbrushed hockey cards.
The practice of airbrushing hockey cards is a lost art form in the most nostalgic way. The blatant terribleness of some hockey cards from the airbrush era have made for some of the most memorable 2 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ flaps of cardboard ever printed. As an ode to some of our favourite bad hockey cards of all-time, and just in time for trade deadline season, we’ve taken the opportunity to create “cards” for players on the move using Photoshop. Bryan McCabe has already suited up for the New York Rangers, but we had our first look at him in his new gear 24 hours before he arrived in New York. We’ve also got a sneak peek at Brad Boyes in his Buffalo Sabres uniform.

Brad Boyes Is A Natural Fit in Buffalo
Although we consider ourselves a bunch of nostalgia crazy hockey geeks, and have all collected cards throughout the years, we’re always looking for new cards to highlight. If you have a hockey card you’d like to see featured, just email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we may post your submission.
